Coop Services Ltd to provide the transportation service for the European Forum of Social Tourism

Coop Services Ltd will be providing the transport to all the delegates attending the European Forum of Social Tourism that will be held in Malta in November 2011.

A high-profile delegation of the International Organisation for Social Tourism (OITS) visited Malta recently to prepare for this Forum which will be held at the Corinthia San Ġorġ Hotel, St. Julians.

During their visit, OITS Director Charles-E. Bélanger and Secretary General Mr. Yves Godin visited the offices of Coop Services Ltd and inspected a sample of minivans that will provide transportation to the delegates attending the Conference.

In the past months, Coop Services Ltd - with a fleet of more than 350 minivans - has diverted its transportation services to the tourism Industry. The new services will be provided along with the traditional transportation services provided to Government, Church and Private schools; factories and the Park & Ride to Valletta – a service that will be provided by Coop Services till end of June 2011.

On signing of the formal agreement for the provision of transport services for the European Forum of Social Tourism, Coop Services Managing Consultant, Chev Tony Coleiro, stated that since the Coop Services Ltd started promoting its services to the tourism industry, various Destination Management Companies, Language Schools and Events and Conference Organisers started using the coop’s services. In fact Coop Services has already provided transportation services to groups that were booked through the Social Tourism Project, of which Chev Coleiro is the founder and promoter.

Coleiro stated that various tour specialists including Training Camps Programmes from the Middle East and Scandinavian countries, and leisure groups from European Trade Union Movements have show interest in the coop's services in the past weeks.

Coleiro said that in the coming weeks, Coop Services will have its own portal with online reservations for FIT and for the local domestic market, providing all means of transport requested including that for persons with special needs.
